Lagoon of a Serpe Nature · A Veiga, Valdeorras, Ourense A lake of glacial origin at 1,697 metres in the Pena Trevinca massif, near the hamlet of da Ponte, one of several icy basins scattered across these mountains, which local oral tradition links to legends of serpents. Legend has it that on the night of San Xoán a girl with long black hair appears sitting on its shores, waiting for some young man to dare to break the curse that forces her to remain turned into a serpent for the rest of the year.
