At 914 metres it is the greatest height of a concello of barely thirty-five square kilometres set at 510 metres on average, on the buttresses of the Serra do Leboreiro and with a climate of continental cast. It is a realm of granite outcrops and scrub from which the Arnoia valley can be taken in; granite here shapes the landscape as much as vernacular architecture.
