The encoro do Salas is a reservoir built on the river Salas, in the municipality of Muíños (Ourense), inaugurated in 1971. Together with the das Conchas reservoir it occupies a large part of a municipality of 109 square kilometres situated at 680 metres above sea level, within the Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés natural park. Its waters also reach the neighbouring municipality of Calvos de Randín and, on the other side of the border, the Portuguese parish of Tourém, in the municipality of Montalegre.
