Festival of a Filloa de Muimenta

Every first of May, the parish of Muimenta, in Cospeito, has celebrated since 1992 its main festival dedicated to the filloa, the traditional Galician crepe, with live preparation and mass tastings; it began to raise funds for the Mostra Exposición Muimenta and in 2008 was declared a fiesta de interés turístico de Galicia (Galicia's tourist-interest festival designation). Since the year 2000 a drawing and story competition on the theme of the filloa has been held, in which pupils from numerous schools in the Terra Chá take part, and since 2005 an Escola de Filloeiros e Filloeiras has operated, where dozens of children learn to make them. In 2013, its declaration as a festival of international tourist interest was submitted to the Government of Spain.
