Mustallar Nature · Cervantes, Ancares, Lugo Image of Cervantes, not of the place itself. The Mustallar, at 1,935 metres, is the highest peak of the Serra dos Ancares and serves as a natural border between the provinces of León and Lugo, of which it is the highest point. The ascent can be made relatively easily from the Porto dos Ancares, passing first the Cuíña and Penalonga peaks, from the León hamlet of Burbia, in A Veiga de Espinareda, or from the hamlet of Piornedo, in the municipality of Cervantes. All the paths converge at the Alto de Golada de Porto, from where, within a few metres, the summit is reached by climbing its northwest face, with a considerable slope but no great difficulty. At the summit there is a small sign and a box where hikers leave their notes. Photo: Norte (CC BY-SA 2.0) What to see and do in Cervantes
