Sandy beach open to the Atlantic between rocky points and backed by dunes, on the north coast of the municipality (concello); its sandy seabed generates powerful, steady waves that have made it Galicia's best-known surfing beach. Located in the parish of Pantín, in Valdoviño, it hosts a round of the World Surfing Championship every year, the Pantín Classic, with waves that can reach five metres. It is also known as playa do Rodo, after the place where it lies, a place name it shares with the castro do Rodo, situated at one end of the beach.
