House of Wenceslao Fernández Flórez Curiosity · Cambre, Coruña, A Coruña The house of Wenceslao Fernández Flórez, at the San Salvador de Cecebre halt (Cambre), is where the writer from A Coruña spent his summers from 1913 onward, first at Carmen's house, in Piñeiro, and finally in his own little house at the halt, until the end of his days. Nearby stands the Fraga de Cecebre, the forest that inspired his best-known novel, El bosque animado, later adapted into an animated film. Today the house, known as Villa Florentina, functions as a house-museum and interpretation centre for the writer under the auspices of his foundation, the Diputación de La Coruña and the Ayuntamiento de Cambre, and preserves its domestic atmosphere.
