The historic centre of Hoyos was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural in the category of Conjunto Histórico in June 2024, for combining mountain vernacular architecture with buildings of noble and palatial character. Its history is linked to the ducal house of Alba and to having been a summer retreat for the bishops of Coria in the early modern era.
