La lápida visigoda de Herguijuela Curiosity · Herguijuela, Comarca de Trujillo, Cáceres Image of Herguijuela, not of the place itself. The place name Herguijuela appears to derive from the Latin term "ecclesia" (church). A white marble Visigothic gravestone has been preserved here, bearing the funerary inscription of Gunthoerta, "handmaid of God", who lived thirty-five years and "rested in peace" on April 28 of the year 618, testimony to the Christian presence in the comarca in the Visigothic period. 28 de abril de 618 Photo: GFreihalter (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Herguijuela
