Arcaded square of about 4,000 m² built between the 15th and 16th centuries, with two-story houses over arcades of granite arches and upper galleries of round-arched windows on slender columns; there are 65 arches and 103 windows in total. Some columns lean slightly, attributed to the effects of the 1755 Lisbon earthquake.
