Talayuela
Village
Municipality of 7,439 inhabitants (2025), 181.46 km² and 287 m altitude. Founded in the 16th century, it went from about 200 inhabitants around 1840 to more than 8,000 in 2001, thanks in part to the eradication of malaria and 20th-century colonization plans. Since 1994 it has lost territory through the splitting-off of Rosalejo, Tiétar and Pueblonuevo de Miramontes as separate municipalities.
