What to see and do in Rena

Rena
Village
Municipality of 605 inhabitants (2025) at 254 m altitude, with a small municipal area of 10.8 km². Already documented in Roman times (possibly linked to the ancient place name Rodacis), it resurged in the 12th century under Templar impetus. Together with Villar de Rena, it is one of the two historic Don Benito-area settlements on the right bank of the Guadiana, although today they belong to different judicial districts (Rena to Don Benito, Villar de Rena to Villanueva de la Serena).
Confluencia de los ríos Gargáligas y Alcollarín
Nature
The Gargáligas and Alcollarín rivers meet within the municipal term of Rena, and the Ruecas also flows through it, in an area of river-valley plains with a mountain range reaching 384 meters.
Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles
Monument
The parish church of Rena, belonging to the Archdiocese of Mérida-Badajoz and the archpriesthood of Miajadas.
