Historical milestone
According to local tradition, the founding of Manchita goes back to the apparition of the Virgin to a shepherd beside an olive tree, a story similar to that of Guadalupe. The first chapel was dedicated to María Santísima de la Mancha, from which the village's name derives, referring to its small size.
