What to see and do in Talarrubias

Talarrubias
Village
Municipality of 3,251 inhabitants (2025) at 435 m altitude (with the municipal territory ranging between 320 and 664 m), next to the García de Sola reservoir. Probably originally a village dependent on Puebla de Alcocer, it was granted the title of villa by decree of Felipe IV on March 22, 1635. A plague epidemic in 1583 decimated three settlements that ended up merging into Talarrubias. Two colonial Venezuelan bishops, Diego Antonio Díez Madroñero and José Antonio García Mohedano, were born here.
