Church of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles de Tuéjar Monument · Tuéjar, Los Serranos, Valencia The church of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles de Tuéjar (Valencia) is a representative work of early Valencian baroque, with Castilian influences, built during the second half of the 17th century by the architect from Teruel Juan Pérez Castiel, and declared a national historic-artistic monument. It has a Latin-cross plan with interconnected side chapels, sacristies next to the presbytery and a bell tower at the foot; it is covered with a plastered barrel vault in the main nave and a dome on pendentives over the crossing. The portal, of limestone and reached by a flight of steps, is topped with pyramidal pinnacles and an aedicule with a curved pediment. The church preserves abundant, high-relief plaster decoration, characteristic of Pérez Castiel's works. Photo: 19Tarrestnom65 (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Tuéjar
