The vow to Sant Vicent Ferrer and the 1600 plague

The plague of 1600 led Agullent to commend itself to Sant Vicent Ferrer. From that vow is born the Nit de les Fogueres of 3 September, a night-time pilgrimage festival repeated every year, and the cycle of festivities of early September around the saint.
