La Font d'en Carròs Village · Font d'en Carròs (la), La Safor, Valencia La Font d'en Carròs is a municipality of La Safor, in the province of Valencia, which takes its name from the Carròs lineage, admirals of the Crown of Aragon who received the barony of Rebollet after the 1240 conquest — known in Arab times as Rafalí and governed by the Carròs family until the late 15th century. Its castle, conquered that year, was destroyed by an earthquake in 1598, and the 14th-century Mudéjar wall of Rafalí marks its first settlement nucleus. The economy, agricultural for centuries, turned towards construction after the citrus crisis of the 1990s; the El Bolo factory still operates, handcrafting hydraulic tiles of great beauty.
