Serpis River through Beniflá Nature · Beniflá, La Safor, Valencia Image of Beniflá, not of the place itself. The Serpis river rises in the Polop valley, at the foot of the Carrascal de la Fuente Roja, and runs 74.5 kilometres before flowing into the Mediterranean at Gandia. As it passes through Beniflá, in the La Safor comarca, it follows the line of the municipality's western boundary -entirely flat in relief- leaving the town on its right bank. It is a river of Mediterranean regime, with torrential floods in autumn and an average flow of 2.5 cubic metres per second, regulated upstream by the Beniarrés reservoir.
