Founding of Fortaleny by James I

Fortaleny was founded on 26 January 1239, when King James I granted Guillem de Rocafull the donation of these lands, which were to be worked by the Hospitaller Brothers of Saint Anthony Abbot. The 750th anniversary of this founding was commemorated in 1989. The account of this origin comes from the book by the priest Andreu de Sales Ferri Chulio, which gathers the historical documentation on the origins of the town.
