Settlement charter of L'Alcúdia of 1252

Jaume I handed the place to Pedro de Montagut in 1238 and he granted on 17 January 1252 a charter of settlement to fifty-four Christian colonists. That document fixed the distribution of the lands and the obligations of the new settlers.
