Chapel of Santa Ana de La Llosa de Ranes Monument · Llosa de Ranes (la), La Costera, Valencia Image of Llosa de Ranes (la), not of the place itself. Chapel of La Llosa de Ranes set on high ground, with views over the La Costera region. It stands at the top of the Santa Ana hill, in an enclave belonging to the municipality of Xàtiva but reached by crossing La Llosa de Ranes along the Camino de los Baños de Santa Ana. The current building, in Valencian Gothic style, dates from the 16th century, although there was an earlier 14th-century structure; it was erected by Cardinal Rodrigo de Borja in 1456. It has a rectangular floor plan with buttresses, a semicircular doorway with plain voussoirs and three bays with ribbed vaults separated by transverse arches; the vault keystones bear the Borja coat of arms, the Virgin with Child, Saint Michael, the Xàtiva coat of arms and the arms of Aragon. It is declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection). Photo: Joanbanjo (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Llosa de Ranes (la)
