L'Alcúdia de Crespins Village · Alcúdia de Crespins (l'), La Costera, Valencia L'Alcúdia de Crespins is a municipality of the Costera comarca, in the province of Valencia, situated in the valley of the río Cáñoles, at the entrance to the valley of Montesa and facing the sierra de Vernisa. It arose in 1240 on a Muslim hamlet, the Torre de la Alcudia, which in 1353 passed to Berenguer de Llombay and was later acquired by the Crespí family, of Girona origin, who gave it their name; Ausiàs Crespí had the Palacio de los Crespí built. Its parish church, dedicated to Saint Onuphrius, was damaged by the 1748 earthquake. The Riu dels Sants rises on the outskirts of the village over a Cretaceous fossil site.
