Creu Coberta de Mislata Historical milestone · Mislata, L'Horta Sud, Valencia The Creu de Mislata is a Gothic construction of the 14th and 15th centuries situated on the boundary of the municipal area of Mislata (Horta Sud) with Valencia. On the same site there had previously been another cross, torn down in 1411; the present reconstruction began on 28 March 1432. It served as a customs post for Valencia besides marking the boundary between the two areas, and the old Valencia-Madrid road used to pass by it. The ensemble comprises the cross, an octagonal pillar crowned by a capital with an eight-sided sculpture, four faces bearing the city's arms and four with reliefs of its saints, San Miguel, San Vicente, San José and the Virgin of the Desamparados; and the cuculla, a covering of Arab tile resting on four pillars. The original Gothic cross was torn down and replaced with another one in iron. siglo XV Photo: Joanbanjo (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Mislata
