The place appears already in the Llibre del Repartiment after the conquest of 1238 as an Andalusi hamlet. In 1363 it passed into the hands of Pere Boïl and his lineage kept the seigneurial jurisdiction until the abolition of the seigneuries by the Cortes de Cádiz.
