Conquest of the tower of Museros by James I Curiosity · Museros, L'Horta Nord, Valencia Image of Museros, not of the place itself. The tower of Museros was conquered by James I in 1235 and received its settlement charter in 1279 from the Order of Santiago. After the conquest, the tower was given to this military order, which granted the settlement charter under the fuero of Valencia that same year. In 1553 the Order of Santiago granted a new settlement charter to the municipality, although it kept the castle, the ovens and the church for itself. The conquest marked Museros' transition, whose name has its origin in the preceding centuries of Muslim rule, towards Christian resettlement.
