The Silos of Burjassot

An old underground grain store in Burjassot, formed by a group of silos hewn into the rock, in what is known as the Patio de los Silos. It was built from the 16th century onwards to store surplus wheat from the city of Valencia, and the works were not considered finished until 1806. The complex consists of 47 underground storage pits, of which 41 still retain their cover.
