Castle-palace of Benissanó Monument · Benissanó, El Camp de Túria, Valencia The castle-palace of Benissanó, where, according to tradition, King Francis I of France was taken prisoner after the Battle of Pavia, was built in the second half of the 15th century and originally had a drawbridge and moat. It is one of the best-preserved castles in the Comunitat Valenciana, and can be toured inside: its rooms and terraces transport the visitor back to medieval times.
