The Monasterio de Santo Espíritu, founded in 1402 by Queen María de Luna in the valle del Toliu, stands on the southeastern slope of the Sierra Calderona, beside the Palancia basin, in the municipal district of Gilet. Rebuilt in the 17th century, it today houses a Franciscan guesthouse that serves as a starting point for numerous hiking routes through the mountains.
