Church of San Pedro Apóstol de Canet d'En Berenguer Monument · Canet d'En Berenguer, El Camp de Morvedre, Valencia Baroque parish church in Canet d'En Berenguer (Valencia), built in the 18th century, between 1747 and 1762, though its origin would be older: the church already existed in 1420, according to the will of Francesc Berenguer, first Baron of Canet, who expressed his wish to be buried inside it. Its salmon-coloured façade is arranged in three sections with a doorway of Doric pilasters and a niche holding the image of Saint Peter; the interior has a single nave with side chapels and preserves, in the chapel of the Virgin Against Fevers, an altarpiece in Byzantine style possibly the work of a 16th-century Italian workshop. A fire in 1936 destroyed the rest of the images and furnishings. Listed as a Bien de Relevancia Local (a heritage-protection status of local scope) in 1998. siglo XVIII Photo: 19Tarrestnom65 (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Canet d'En Berenguer
