Lighthouse-Tower of Canet d'En Berenguer Curiosity · Canet d'En Berenguer, El Camp de Morvedre, Valencia Image of Canet d'En Berenguer, not of the place itself. The lighthouse of Canet d'En Berenguer was installed in 1904 on a sandy spit that forms Cape Canet, at the mouth of the river Palancia. It is 30 metres tall, has 140 steps and an octagonal base, with a white light that reaches a range of 25 miles. Its most distinctive feature is that it stands about 300 metres inland, among orange groves, on the site of an old 16th-century watchtower that gave warning of the arrival of corsair ships: at that time the place was walled and housed one of the five companies of horsemen that guarded the coast. 1904 Photo: 19Tarrestnom65 (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Canet d'En Berenguer
