The expulsion of the Moriscos from the Vall d'Uixó

The valley, populated almost entirely by Moriscos, was left empty in 1609 after Philip III's edict; Christian colonists had to be brought from the Maestrazgo and the inland comarcas to resettle its farmsteads and its irrigated fields.
