Church of la Asunción de Benlloc Monument · Benlloc, La Plana Alta, Castellón The Church of the Assumption of Benlloc, built between 1614 and 1650, has a single nave with side chapels and a polygonal apse, and an attached sacristy. Its Renaissance façade, with richly worked columns, contrasts with the fortress-like appearance given by a defensive tower at the rear of the building. The presbytery retains a star-ribbed vault of Gothic influence, and one of its bells is considered among the oldest in the Valencian Community. The 25-metre-high bell tower is climbed by a spiral staircase of more than 150 steps. Photo: Juan Emilio Prades Bel (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Benlloc
