Torre Madoc de La Torre d'en Besora Monument · La Torre d'en Besora, L'Alt Maestrat, Castellón Image of La Torre d'en Besora, not of the place itself. 16th-century watchtower, also known as Torre Amador, located in the La Mola area, very close to the path linking Culla with La Torre d'en Besora, in the Alto Maestrazgo. It formed part of the defensive system spread across the former domain of Culla castle, alongside other towers such as those of El Palomar and La Marquesa, and served to watch over the district's mountainous territory. It is square in plan, with a ground floor and two upper storeys, built of rubble masonry reinforced with ashlar at the corners; a farmhouse was later added onto it. It has been listed as a bien de interés cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) since 1985. Photo: Javi Simo (CC BY 4.0) What to see and do in La Torre d'en Besora
