Parish Church of La Torre d'en Besora Monument · La Torre d'en Besora, L'Alt Maestrat, Castellón The Church of Sant Bartomeu, dedicated to the patron saint of La Torre d'en Besora, is the most notable heritage building in the town's old quarter, listed as a bien de relevancia local (a local-level heritage protection designation) in the category of monument of local interest. It currently serves as the parish church of the archpriesthood of Albocàsser, in the diocese of Sogorb-Castelló. Of the original church, only the entrance arch to the present sacristy survives, inscribed with the date 1528, from the 16th century. The present building was constructed during the 18th century, as shown by the 1702 inscription on the doorway. It stands on the highest part of the village, next to the remains of the old castle, whose materials were used to build it, and retains remains of the Arab wall at its rear.
