The parish church of San Rafael, in San Rafael del Río, in the Baix Maestrat area of Castellón, is listed as a Bien de Relevancia Local (Spain's regional heritage-protection status, below Bien de Interés Cultural), under Law 5/2007, amending the Valencian Law on Cultural Heritage. Little information survives about the building and the parish it houses, although it has a parish archive recorded in the Censo-Guía de Archivos de España e Iberoamérica. It stands on the Plaza de la Iglesia, in an area of age-old olive and carob trees beside the river Sénia.
