Church of San Jaime de Bel Monument · Rossell, El Baix Maestrat, Castellón Catholic church located in the centre of the hamlet of Bel (Rossell), a former parish of the bishopric of Tortosa, depopulated in the late 20th century and gradually repopulated afterwards, so that religious services are only held on set days. It was built in the mid-13th century, around 1234-1238, shortly after the Christian repopulation of the territory: it has a nave of five bays with round diaphragm arches without buttresses, and a round-arched portal with voussoirs decorated with four-leaf clovers, one of the clearest examples of Romanesque architecture in the Baix Maestrat. The bell tower and sacristy date from the 17th century. In 2006 restoration works on the roof began, following an urgent intervention requested in 1999 to prevent its collapse.
