Forests of Torás Nature · Torás, El Alto Palancia, Castellón Image of Torás, not of the place itself. The forest landscape of Torás, in the Alto Palancia (Castellón), covers almost a third of the municipal territory, with pines, junipers and holm oaks as the most abundant species, in areas such as La Hoya Elvira, El Agua Mala, El Sabinar, La Cañadilla, El Bolaje and Los Arenales. Specimens of Portuguese oak (Quercus faginea) also grow there, now scarce in the area, and, at the head of the ravines, common elms together with some of the last native white and black poplars in the Comunitat Valenciana. The municipality reaches its highest altitudes at Monte Alto del Navajo, at 1104 metres, and at Alto del Pepino, its highest point, at 1136 metres.
