Torre Chiva Monument · Torrechiva, El Alto Mijares, Castellón Circular tower of the 13th century, of Arab origin, in the old quarter of Torrechiva, which gives the municipality its name. Its function is not clear: it may have been part of a Muslim farmstead (alquería) or a watchtower over the passage formed by the river Mijares next to the village. Today it is embedded in the old town, attached on both sides to houses that reveal only part of its structure, and it is the only standing remnant of the old 11th-century Muslim castle, now in ruins.
