Los Calpes Curiosity · Puebla de Arenoso, El Alto Mijares, Castellón Los Calpes is one of the hamlets of La Puebla de Arenoso, in the Alto Mijares comarca, and preserves an old quarter that occupies practically the whole settlement. Its parish church, dedicated to the Virgen del Rosario, was rebuilt in the 1990s, keeping the site of the earlier church. Nearby, notable landscapes include the Cabezo, the Collao and the Morrón de Campos, with views over the Arenós reservoir, as well as picnic areas next to the Fuente de Artiguillas and the Fuente del Rosario. The economy, traditionally based on dryland farming and almond growing, is now complemented by rural tourism. The patronal festivities, in honour of the Virgen del Rosario and San Roque, are held in the first half of August with children's events, bands and sports tournaments.
