Palace of los Condes de Cirat Monument · Cirat, El Alto Mijares, Castellón The Palace of the Counts of Cirat stands in the centre of the town, in the square known as the plaza Mayor, and is catalogued by generic declaration as a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection), although it is not registered with the ministry, bearing the identification code 12.08.046-003 in the Generalitat Valenciana's BIC record. Some authors date it to the 14th century, considering that it may stand on the remains of Roman foundations, while others place its construction two centuries later, in the 16th century. Together with the ruins of the castle and the parish church, it forms part of the historical heritage of Cirat. Photo: DagafeSQV (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Cirat
