Ayódar holds two local feasts a year. That of San Sebastián, on 20 January, is moved to the weekend closest to the date and brings together various popular events. That of the Virgen del Rosario (Our Lady of the Rosary), around 2 October, runs through the week of the first Sunday of the month, with concerts, street parades, open-air dances, religious ceremonies, contests and bullfighting events. Both preserve the festive character of this municipality of the Castellón Alto Mijares, resettled after the expulsion of the Moriscos in 1609.
