Fortification dating from the 11th century in Beniramma, one of the eight settlements that make up the Vall de Gallinera. In the 13th century it belonged to the domains of the chieftain Al-Azraq, a leading figure of Muslim resistance in the comarca, which explains the great importance the castle held during the reign of James I and the campaigns of Christian conquest of these lands.
