Church of la Natividad de Nuestra Señora de Benilloba

The church of the Natividad de Nuestra Señora of Benilloba stands on the site of a former mosque, blessed and converted into a church in 1530; in 1535 Benilloba was established as an independent parish. The present temple, from the 17th century and in neoclassical style, has a Latin-cross plan with a nave of three bays and side chapels, a false dome over the transept and a deep sanctuary covered by a barrel vault decorated with frescoes. It was restored between 1993 and 1995 by Art History students from the University of Valencia.
