What to see and do in Sesma

Sesma
Village
A town of 1,248 inhabitants built on a defensive hill that once held a castle, of which remains such as the Zabalburu stronghold survive. It preserves the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, of medieval origin in the 13th century, and the Baroque ermita de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios.
El esparto de Sesma
Curiosity
For generations, whole families in Sesma worked the esparto grass that grows wild within its boundaries, a trade abandoned more than eighty years ago that the town commemorates each year at the Feria de Artesparto, held on the last Sunday of April or the first Sunday of May.
