Altsasu/Alsasua

Village · Altsasu/Alsasua, Sakana, Navarra

Documented since the 12th century as part of the Burunda valley, from which it separated as its own municipality in 1846. King Alfonso XIII granted it the title of "Muy Ilustre Villa" ("Most Illustrious Town") on 27 March 1907. The head town of the Sakana region, it has 7,717 inhabitants (2025).
