What to see and do in Aribe

Aribe
Village
Aribe, on the banks of the Irati river and the nerve center of the Aezkoa valley, has been documented since 1350 under the form Aryue; its name comes from the Basque "Ari(a) behe," "below Aria," the village situated further up. Despite having only 34 inhabitants (INE 2025), it concentrates the valley's services -pharmacy, gas station, banks, hotel, and restaurant- as the obligatory gateway to the Selva de Irati (Irati Forest).
Puente medieval de Aribe
Monument
A pointed-arch bridge that spans the Irati river at the entrance to Aribe, one of the historic passages of the Aezkoa valley toward the beech forests of the Selva de Irati. Beside it are preserved remains of old thermal baths, which give an idea of the spa use the site once had.
