Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel y el hospital de peregrinos de Cizur Menor Historical milestone · Cizur, Comarca de Pamplona, Navarra In 1135 Lope Íñiguez and his wife Sancha Aznárez donated the church of San Miguel of Cizur Menor to the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, which established a convent there with a church and cloister and, in the early 13th century, a pilgrims' hospital that cared for those traveling the Camino Francés to Santiago. From the late 12th century it was the seat of the Hospitaller commandery of San Juan (Order of Malta) in the area. The church, in late Romanesque style, preserves a semicircular apse, a single nave and a battlemented tower. Photo: José Antonio Gil Martínez from Vigo, Spain (CC BY 2.0) What to see and do in Cizur
