Church of Santo Domingo de Silos de Pozuelo del Rey Monument · Pozuelo del Rey, Cuenca del Henares, Madrid The church of Santo Domingo de Silos, in Pozuelo del Rey, reflects an architecture of the first half of the 16th century and was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) in 2019. It combines a quadrangular chancel covered with a Gothic ribbed vault of Hontañón influence with a three-nave body separated by Renaissance arcades on slender columns, covered with a wooden roof of Mudéjar tradition. Against the retention of Gothic structures in the main chapel, the nave body was already raised in the new Renaissance style. On the north wall and in the first section of the tower survive remains of an earlier Toledan Mudéjar masonry, showing an early temple built during the resettlement of the district in the 12th and 13th centuries.
