Municipal museum of Alcobendas, the work of architects Fernando Parrilla Villafruela and María Isabel Muñoz Parrilla, designed in 2006 and built on the site where the Casa Municipal de la Cultura and the Universidad Popular de Alcobendas had previously stood. The building, which generates its own energy through solar panels, has nine floors housing exhibition halls, an auditorium, a spacious meeting area and a media library. Opened in 2011, it houses the extensive Colección de Fotografía Alcobendas together with temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
