Mountain range of Cavalls

Mountain range in the comarca of Terra Alta (Tarragona), part of the Catalan Prelitoral range alongside the neighbouring Serra de Pàndols, with which it shares protection as a site of natural interest (PEIN) under the designation Serres de Pàndols-Cavalls. Its highest point is Punta Redona, at 659 metres. During the Spanish Civil War it was, together with the Serra de Pàndols, the scene of fierce fighting in the Battle of the Ebro, in which the Republican 11th Division and the International Brigades fought against Francoist troops.
